Dear Families,
We had such a fun time last night at the holiday musical! Thank you to all the families who attended.
Thank you so much to Rob Basile who donated a native tree or plant to each child in the class! The hope is that everyone will plant now, and be able to watch the growth of their plant over the years! The plants may look dead now, but they are just dormant and waiting for a good place to be put in the earth. We will look forward to watching their transformation in the Springtime. If you do not have a place to plant it, have your child bring it back to school and we will plant it in our new schoolyard garden. It would be fun to share photos of the plants over the course of the year.
There will be no homework over vacation except daily reading. The next homework will be sent home on Friday, December 5th.
Here are some important upcoming dates:
  • Friday, December 5th - first trimester report cards go home. Please contact me if you would like a conference regarding your child’s report card.
  • Friday, December 5th - Miss Lewis’ last day with us! I’m sending home a blank letter template if your child would like to write her a thank you letter for all the great help she has given us this year!
  • Wednesday, December 10th - Minimum Day - dismissal at 12:00.
  • Wednesday, December 17th - Caroling in Tahoe City - I will send home times when I know.
  • Friday, December 19th - Pajama Reading Celebration Day - Children can wear pajamas to school as well as bring in a stuffed animal and books from home to read with. I would love to have donations of healthy foods - not a lot of sugar, please. We will have a holiday book exchange. Please wrap a new or slightly used book and send it to school by Friday, December 19th. We will have a fun gift exchange and everyone will go home with a new book to read over winter vacation! Please let me know if you are not able to provide a book.
  • Winter Holidays - no school: December 20th - January 4th

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
