Dear Families,

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful vacation with your children. We have had a great first week of 2016. We began our January Perk Ups. If you are missing a calendar, please let me know and I will send another one home. The secret share day next Tuesday means your child will place something in a brown lunch bag, write three clues about it and the other children will guess what it is. Because we will be skiing at Squaw that day, I am moving Secret Share to Friday, January 15th.

We are so fortunate to be able to ski at Squaw next Tuesday. All children will receive free equipment rentals and lessons at their level. Please make sure your child is dressed in snow clothes, with sunscreen, gloves, and a bag lunch.

We will be cross country skiing here at school on Wednesday, January 27th from 12:50-2, Friday, February 12th from 8:30-9:55, and Friday, March 11th from 8:30-9:55 depending on the weather. I would greatly appreciate parent volunteers for these fun days!

Please remember to pack P.E. shoes Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We are beginning a unit of study on Arctic Animals and their adaptations. We’ll also be learning about Winter Survival through our District’s Hug-a-Tree curriculum. In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we will be embarking on a quest to get 100 Acts of Kindness between MLK day and Valentine’s Day. I will send more information regarding this later. The children are becoming more proficient readers and it would be great to see more of them on Raz Kids at home.

¡Feliz año nuevo! Espero que todos hayan tenido unas maravillosas vacaciones con sus hijos. Hemos tenido una gran primera semana de 2016. Comenzamos nuestra enero “Perk Ups”. Si se echa en falta un calendario, por favor hágamelo saber y voy a enviar a otra. El Día Compartir Secreto el próximo martes significa que su hijo va a colocar algo en una bolsa, escribir tres pistas acerca de la misma y los otros niños se adivina lo que es. Porque vamos a estar esquiando en Squaw ese día, me estoy moviendo Compartir Secreto para viernes 15, enero.

Somos muy afortunados de poder esquiar en Squaw próximo martes. Todos los niños recibirán gratis el alquiler de equipos y lecciones a su nivel. Por favor, asegúrese de que su niño está vestido con ropa de nieve, con crema solar, guantes, y un almuerzo en una bolsa.

Estaremos esquí el fondo aquí en la escuela el Miércoles, 27 de enero de 12: 50-2, Viernes, 12 de febrero de 8: 30-9: 55, y el viernes, 11 de marzo, 8: 30-9: 55 en función de la clima. ¡Les agradecería mucho a los padres voluntarios para estos días de diversión!

Por favor, recuerda empacar zapatos para la educación física los martes y jueves..

Estamos comenzando una unidad de estudio sobre los animales del Arctic y sus adaptaciones. También estaremos aprendiendo acerca de la supervivencia del invierno a través currículo Hug-a-Tree de nuestro Distrito. En honor del Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., nos adentraremos en una búsqueda para obtener 100 Actos de Bondad entre MLK día y el Día de San Valentín. Voy a enviar más información sobre esto más adelante. Los niños se están convirtiendo en los lectores más competentes y sería genial ver más de ellos en RazKids en casa.
